A 49-year-old father from Kessel-Lo (Leuven) died on Wednesday afternoon in the Leuven Vaart (Kanaal Leuven-Dijle). Wim D. was swimming with a friend at the Viaduct of the E314, but fell into trouble for an unknown reason. The fire brigade removed the man from the water, but could not save him anymore. The woman who informed the emergency services still employed the forties.
