Many police are present at the fair on the Gildeplein in Rosmalen on Wednesday evening. Agents, together with boas, police dogs and security guards, keep an eye on things after the big fight between two groups of young people, the night before.

For the time being it is quiet on the fairground.

The disturbances, in which several young people fought each other, started on Tuesday evening outside the fairground, but then moved to the fair and the center.

‘Cat and mouse game with the police’
According to an employee of the first aid, it was a group of 200 to 300 people who got involved. “Not everyone was fighting, but there was a kind of cat and mouse game with the police. Others started calling around and so it became more and more people.”

Another bystander saw it happen from the terrace. “I saw blood on the ground and someone with an injury to his ear. Around seven o’clock the youngsters started challenging each other and fighting each other. After that, adults also got involved.

Two arrests
The police arrived with several units to get the fighters’ bosses under control. For this, agents used their baton. According to bystanders, violence would also have been used towards the security guards. And 13-year-old boy and a man of 51 were arrested.

Also at other fairs in the province things got out of hand in recent weeks. In Liempde it also went wrong last week between two groups at the fair. Someone there was also mistreated. The fair in Boxtel starts next Friday. Extra measures are considered there as a result of the upsaws in Liempde.
