The “Baller League” by Mats Hummels and Lukas Podolski is getting well-known competition. The small-field format of the two soccer world champions has already been running for a few weeks, but the “Icon League” is in the starting blocks. The format by Toni Kroos and streamer Elias Nerlich (Eligella/EliasN97) is scheduled to start in late summer of this year.

David Alaba, a prominent team manager, has already been introduced. Football professional Jordan Torunarigha (KAA Gent, formerly played for Hertha BSC) is also represented together with former footballer Sidney Friede. Now another name is added.

As Kroos and Nerlich announced on Sunday evening, former Bayern star Franck Ribéry is also taking over a team. The Frenchman, who played in Munich from 2007 to 2019, is currently a technical coach in Italy (US Salernitana). Now another task is added.
