Paris (dpa) – The longtime Bayern professional Thiago can appear in the Champions League final on Saturday (9 p.m. / ZDF and DAZN) for Liverpool against Real Madrid.
“It looks good for both of them,” said coach Jürgen Klopp the day before the game when asked about Thiago and Fabinho, who was also ailing: “Fabinho has been training all week. And Thiago started yesterday. All good.”
After substituting Thiagos in the last league game on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Klopp had said he would be out on Saturday without naming the injury. Now the coach explained that the Spanish international was able to start training on Thursday. Thiago played for FC Bayern Munich from 2013 to 2020 and won the Champions League title with the Munich team in 2020, as he did in 2011 with FC Barcelona.
