Babacar Gueye found a new employer on Turkey’s Deadline Day. A few days after the official termination of his contract at FC Erzgebirge Aue, the Senegalese will go on the hunt for goals for second division side Kocaelispor. The latter has not necessarily emerged as a strength of the 27-year-old in the 2nd Bundesliga over the last few years.
Gueye had contributed two goals in 14 games for the “Veilchen” this season, as well as in 22 appearances in the previous season at Karlsruher SC. Most goals in a championship round came at SC Paderborn, with whom Gueye also rose to the Bundesliga when he contributed six goals to the successful 2018/19 season at SCP. In 2016, Hannover 96 brought him to Germany from France and initially awarded him several times. The attacker has now signed a contract with his new employer in Izmit until 2023.
