Los Angeles (AP) – Los Angeles FC has signed the former US international and Hannover 96 professional Steven Cherundolo as the second head coach in the club’s history. Cherundolo will be presented on Wednesday, the LAFC announced.
The 42-year-old Cherundolo played 87 international matches for the US team between 1999 and 2012, took part in three World Cup finals and has 15 years of experience in the Bundesliga, where he played 370 games for Hannover 96.
“I’m very excited to introduce Steve as our next head coach,” said LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington on Monday. “Steve has a unique mix of international and national experience at the highest level that meets these requirements.”
