Although the systems are currently not connected to the network, business continues at all locations, the company EVOTEC announced on Monday in Hamburg. Outside IT and other experts assessed the scope and potential impact of the incident. EVOTEC informed the relevant authorities about the incident. Selected systems are scheduled to remain offline pending forensic investigation is complete and security plans are implemented. The stock was down half a percent on Tuesday after the Easter weekend.
According to EVOTEC, it was attacked last Thursday. As a result, the systems were shut down as a precaution and disconnected from the Internet to prevent data breaches and data corruption. Now the Hamburg-based company wants to find solutions so that the full range of services is still available for partners. More efficient e-mail communication should also be available again in the next few days. According to Evotec, communication with suppliers and customers is currently still via a central e-mail inbox.
In recent months, hackers have also targeted Aurubis, Continental and SAF Holland.
The EVOTEC shares temporarily lost 2.58 percent to EUR 19.61 via XETRA.
