Everything you need to know about Hackney Diamonds

For Rolling Stones fans, it was the best few weeks in a very long time. The advert for an alleged glazier’s shop in the London neighborhood newspaper “Hackney Gazette”, the first video snippets on social media, an exemplary viral campaign that finally culminated in the press conference in London, moderated by Jimmy Fallon: So there is now actually a new Stones -Studio album with own songs. It is the first in 18 years and is famously called “Hackney Diamonds”.

We spent a few magical days in London at the beginning of September, went on a search for clues in the birthplace of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, Dartford, we surprised Jagger and Jimmy Fallon with an ale in the pub The Old Ship Hackney, the next day the Watched the arrival of the Rolling Stones behind the Hackney Empire and took part in the now famous press conference.

The best was yet to come: the day after this event we met Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood for one of the few interviews about “Hackney Diamonds”. The shared history of the band The Rolling Stones and the magazine with almost the same name has a long tradition, this also applies to the German edition: “I love German ROLLING STONE,” said Ronnie Wood on the sidelines of the interview, Keith Richards greeted the reporter with the words : “Every time I make a new record, we meet up.”

The interviews with the remaining Stones will now be reflected in the November issue of the German ROLLING STONE, which will be published on October 26th. It has become one of the longest stories about a new Stones album in the magazine’s history, stretching from Dartford to London to Los Angeles to the Bahamas, from then to now, from Paul McCartney to Lady Gaga.
