Everything has changed at CH de Wolden, which is back on the agenda after two corona years. A new board, the terrain has been changed and various facilities have been tackled.
The new chairman Michel Broek explains: “Every year we want to invest in the terrain. Riders are grateful for that. They are happy to come back in the following years.”
For example, the new board has started working on the stables. ‘Little things’ such as manure plates have been installed there, says Broek. But enough has changed for the visitors as well. Large parts of the site have been paved, and the VIP lounge has also been renovated. “It was all on one level, but it is now stepped. People in the second row sit a bit higher than the people in the first row, so they can better look outside.”
“Standing still is going backwards,” he continues. “You should never think you’re done.” That is why there are already ideas for the coming years. “We would like to hold a championship one day. The European championship in 2019 was a great success. We want to do something in that form again. Maybe a Dutch championship.”
