It was Wednesday around 4 pm when a number of hikers with dogs passed the Alpacahof Hagebos. The dogs managed to break into the pasture of the twenty or so alpacas. They caused a moment of panic in the other animals. Suri alpaca Bruno was so scared that he chose the harepath. And since then there has been no trace of the brown-haired man. Despite frantic efforts, because in recent days there has been a lot of search for it.

Yesterday the Hagebos, a densely wooded place next to the meadow, was searched with a drone and a thermal camera. This happened after a report to the local police, who sent a drone. But that was not a success. The watercourses have also been further investigated. The Noord-Ede has been sailed down the Noord-Ede with a canoe, without result. “We are grateful to everyone, because many people ask walkers to be extra attentive to an animal with brown hair. We have not yet been able to search all the canals, that is almost impossible here. So we appeal to passers-by to keep an eye on things.”

The owners of the Alpacahof also take into account that the animal may have been taken by someone. “Alpacas just look very cute,” Vera says. “But they are herd animals. They cannot survive alone. They are devastated by grief. That is why it is really important that Bruno can be with his kind again.” The search continues unabated. “We are not going to organize anything on Friday, just ask to keep a close eye on everything. We are now looking for a lock of Bruno’s hair ourselves to possibly search with sniffer dogs this weekend. It’s basically our last hope.”
