Alice Cooper is currently a judge on a music show that rates young artists, so he’s constantly making judgments about others. In an interview with “LA Weekly”, the 74-year-old now announced which bands young musicians must have heard: the Beatles, Beach Boys and The Four Seasons.
“I always say it’s all about how good the song is,” Cooper explained. He doesn’t care how exciting the young bands are, he has the same tip for everyone. “I want you to listen to The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Four Seasons.” They all would have made perfect music.
“Don’t just yell at me”
Cooper also targeted punk bands. “Don’t just play a riff or the drums and yell at me. It’s not a song.” It is much more important to build a song with verses and a chorus out of anger.
The master of extravagant stage performances advises lead singers to always be the center of attention at concerts. You should never lose eye contact with the audience. “You are bigger than life itself. So don’t come on stage and then be shy. That’s not what a rock singer is.”
