Operation “Taxi” took place in Moscow, within the framework of which the traffic police officers checked more than 27 thousand cars. As a result, more than 3800 cars turned out to be faulty, and more than three thousand with unreadable numbers.
800 taxi drivers had no documents, 287 cars were operated without inspection. 700 drivers were found with overdue fines, and 508 were fined for running a red light at an intersection, reports TASS.
270 were fined for improper parking and parking, 35 for drunk driving, 29 for driving into the oncoming lane.
Operation “Taxi” took place from 4 to 6 February. The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate announced next special operation, it’s called Report Drunk Driver. Within its framework, employees of gas stations and catering establishments were offered to hand over customers who sat behind the wheel drunk.
