Everton lose to Newcastle United’s Van de Beek debut

Everton lost to Donny van de Beek’s debut in the Premier League. Newcastle United won at home from the club from Liverpool, 3-1. Everton are now only a point ahead of their fellow relegation candidate in the rankings. Van de Beek, who was hired from Manchester United, came in after an hour.

After just over half an hour, new Everton coach Frank Lampard had already been forced to replace two players, Yerry Mina and Demarai Gray. The Liverpool club then took the lead after an own goal by Jamaal Lascelles. A minute later, however, it was already level again, as Mason Holgate also passed his own goalkeeper on the other side.

After the restart, the home team took the lead with a goal from Ryan Fraser. Kieran Trippier made it 3-1.

Anwar El Ghazi stayed on the bench at Everton.
