Evert Sanwaarden understands nothing at all that Nieuwe Revu has not withdrawn the cover with Rachel Hazes and her ‘new’ love Klaas Otto. “It’s actually the Oude Revu now.”
De Nieuwe Revu will be in stores tomorrow with cover models Rachel Hazes and Klaas Otto. “Their first interview together,” it reads. The only problem: they broke up three days ago. The editor-in-chief therefore advises readers to buy a marker and scratch the heart on the cover.
painful cover
Private editor-in-chief Evert Sanwaarden thinks it is a bit painful. He can talk about painful covers, because he was very embarrassed last month when he put the wrong princess Amalia on his cover. “As a magazine maker, I know that it can take a week if you have something like this on your cover,” he responds in Shownieuws.
Evert thinks the makers are not happy with this. “You can’t call it De Nieuwe Revu; before it’s out it’s the Old Revu.”
lovebirds
Perhaps Revu should not enter the area of the Privé, says Evert. “You don’t make it up, of course, that such a magazine will experiment with entertainment journalism and that you immediately have an interview with lovebirds that have already broken up, before that magazine is in the shops.”
According to Evert, it is incomprehensible that Revu has not withdrawn this cover. “I am surprised that it has already been printed, because Nieuwe Revu, just like Panorama, is now owned by a printing company. Then you would say: ‘Then you print your own magazines last and you are always current in the store.’”
5,000 copies
Albert Verlinde vals: “And they have to get those 5,000 copies off the printing press in no time.”
Evert: “Yes, you can stencil through it in no time. Ohhh! But it’s nice to have. Welcome to showbiz journalism. It is sometimes difficult for a printing company to keep up.”
