Evert Santegoeds has no regrets that he harassed Janke Dekker at her private home. The Private boss therefore offers no apologies. “You want to know how she’s doing.”

Janke Dekker is blamed for knowingly staying on as chairman of the Mores hotline, while she knew that her own husband Tom Egbers is not of impeccable behavior and his employer NOS Sport has been under a magnifying glass for some time. She has now resigned, as have the rest of the Mores top.

Paparazzo to Janke

Private boss Evert Santegoeds apparently thinks Janke’s misstep is also a reason to harass her in her private domain. He has sent a paparazzo to Huizen to post all day at Janke and Tom’s house. When she checks whether the coast is clear after a warning from the neighbor, she is photographed on her own doormat.

Now Janke can be found on magazine shelves throughout the Netherlands, prominently featured on the cover of the weekly magazine Privé. You may wonder whether this is actually cross-border in 2023. In any case, Evert himself does not think so.

Evert defends

Media journalist Jordi Versteegden confronts Evert in the podcast Strictly Private. “There are also people who see the Privé cover and that photo of Janke and think: shouldn’t we leave her alone for a while? How do you look at that? Did you consciously choose to go there anyway and take a closer look?”

Evert thinks it’s all very normal. “Well, I didn’t know what they were going to do. They also talked about going for a walk through the dunes and Tom getting such a great response from people, like, “We love you.” I actually wanted to portray that, but she didn’t come out the door.

‘You want to know’

Yes, Janke didn’t come out because she doesn’t feel like Evert’s hyenas. Seems like a pretty clear signal. Anyway, then Janke standing on her doormat. “The only thing we’ve been able to do is this. It says something about her condition. She is one of the most talked about women at the moment, so you want to know how she is doing.”

Evert was also called to account last night in Show news. In it he says: “She is home a lot. Tom Egbers said on television on Friday that he sometimes goes for a walk with her and that he gets very nice reactions from people in the audience. We wanted to see that, but she doesn’t leave the house at all.”

Straight into the camera

The Private Boss is rather triumphant about it. “We were very happy with a neighbor who warned that there was a photographer in the street, because at that moment Janke looked where that was and then she looked straight into our camera.”

Colleague William Rutten surprised: “There is a photographer waiting all day for her to come out?”

Evert as if bitten by a dog: “Yes.”

William: “Really?!”

Evert: “Yes.”

William: “What a k*t job.”
