Evert Santegoeds counts on Talpa exit Gordon: ‘Not worth salary’

Evert Santegoeds expects Gordon’s lucrative Talpa contract not to be extended due to his disappointing viewing figures. “He belongs in the top 15 and his salary is accordingly.”

Gordon’s new program got off to a sad start on SBS 6 on Thursday evening. The premiere of Kookklunzen did not get any further than the very last place in the daily viewing figure top 25. Worthless, judged viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp. And private boss Evert Santegoeds is also starting now to fear for Gordon.

High salary

Evert finds Gordon’s score extremely disappointing, he says in the podcast Strictly Private. “I’ve seen a piece and then you have an idea. I think it is a really cheerful Gordon program, but yes: then the question is immediately whether people are still waiting for a typical cheerful Gordon program.”

He continues: “It is really a disappointing figure that he has put down. He is in 25th place of the viewing figure top 25. Now there are also a lot of programs that are not in that top 25, so the end is not yet in sight, but it is… Yes, Gordon should be in the top 15 with whatever he does and his salary is also up to that, I understood.”

Saturation

With these kinds of ratings, Gordon is not worth his high salary, says Evert. “It has not been easy for him in recent years. At some point the saturation might be there, it’s been a lot of Gordon. It was, of course, also a lot of Gordon.”

He continues: “Look, I don’t see that time of Geer and Goor coming back one-two-three and then such a program is quite nice, but then it has to score better than it did now.”

TV exit?

Gordon’s contract with Talpa expires next year. Can he count on an extension? “Well, not under the current conditions, I think. A presenter who hints that he is done with the Netherlands… Yes, if he is done with us, why do I still have to watch him?”

That’s just another thing, says Evert. “It has become an image problem. I think it’s kind of done.”
