Exciting pre-sale start for Depeche Mode: After the pre-sales on Magenta (Thursday, July 13) and Ticketmaster (Friday, July 14), Eventim has also reminded that a pre-sale has started on their site – even before regular sales start on Monday (July 17). At least for the appearance of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Peter Gordeno and Christian Eigner in Cologne. Eventim offers these categories: seven-tier price system for the seats as well as tickets for the Golden Circle (standing room). At Magenta and Ticketmaster, the rush of fans who were willing to buy was huge; Magenta had login problems early in the morning on Thursday.
On Monday the regular presale starts. It can be assumed that the six Depeche Mode winter concerts will be completely sold out very quickly. In our concert review of DM’s performance at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, we wrote: “Since the death of Andrew Fletcher in May 2022, many have been talking about the end of Depeche Mode, and even if his death makes no difference to the live work (to the composition neither in the studio), so the “Memento Mori” album, as well as the accompanying tour, are described as “triumphal procession in the face of death” or “mourning work” or “requiem for a dead friend”. The passing of the long-time band colleague and partner is actually noticeable, even if the stage design designed by Anton Corbijn now simply provides for a tighter arrangement of the four musicians (in addition to Gahan, Gore and owner, keyboard player Peter Gordeno). Most of the “Memento Mori” songs are said to have been finished before Fletch’s death. The stage logo with the capital letter “M” naturally stands for “Memento Mori”, but intuitively one expects the “D” to flash to the left at some point. “DM” for Depeche Mode, or “DM” for “Dave and Martin”, as if the band’s name had been an ominous omen since 1980: which two musicians would be the Last Men Standing.”
