Eventful day in Lago Kortrijk Weide: part of the swimming pool closes earlier

When the man was walking in the recreational zone between the children’s pools around 6.30 pm, he suddenly collapsed. It would be a heart attack. Rescuers were quick to administer first aid. Later, the ambulance and the MUG also arrived on the scene. The man was taken to hospital, but his condition is unknown.

The recreational zone was completely cleared to allow emergency services to do their job. Other visitors could swim further in the sports pool or the outdoor pools. The recreational zone is no longer open to the public afterwards.

Ten young people on blacklist

A little before that, the police were called to run amok on the sunbathing lawn, a little further. About 10 young people caused nuisance.

The youngsters will no longer be allowed on the sunbathing lawn for the next three months. Lago Kortrijk Weide works with a ‘safe swim zone’: visitors over the age of 12 are required to scan their identity card to gain access. The amok makers are now on a blacklist.
