The AC/DC concert in Düsseldorf is relocated. There is also good news and bad (or also good?). The first good news first: The day remains the same. Brian Johnson, Angus Young and colleagues continue to be guests on July 8, 2025 in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia. And at the same time. The bad: they appear in a different location. Not in the Open Air Park, but in the Merkur Spiel-Arena (nothing against the arena, but nobody loves surprises, now honestly).

Organizers comment on the location change

The premiere in the Open Air Park has to be a little long in coming. Managing Director Michael Bill puts AC/DC fans off:

“Fortunately, here in Düsseldorf we can react very flexibly to changing requirements and move shows to one of our other Venues. Of course we find it a shame that we do not celebrate the premiere of the Open Air Park Düsseldorf this year with AC/DC. But at the same time we are happy that the concert with the world stars in Düsseldorf will take place”. And further: “The event submission is not related to the B plan procedure for the Open Air Park.”

Tickets for AC/DC in Düsseldorf will be in advance from this Friday (May 9, 2025).

In October 2023, Angus Young made a surprising appearance at the “AC/DC High Voltage Dive Bar” in Indio, California, during the Power Trip Festival. There he interacted with fans and presented a murals from the band, which apparently underlined his connection with the fan base.

Brian Johnson has taken remarkable steps in recent years to continue his career despite health challenges. In 2016, he had to withdraw from live performances due to the impending hearing loss. Thanks to recent technologies, he was able to partially restore his hearing
