Evenepoel ahead: Dane Pedersen with third Vuelta victory of the day

The Dane Mads Pedersen has celebrated his third stage win in the Tour of Spain. Remco Evenepoel continues to be strong and can hope for overall victory.

After a good 138 kilometers around Talavera de la Reina, Pedersen could not be defeated in the sprint of a large head group on Friday (September 9th, 2022). The best German on the 19th stage was Jonas Koch from the Bora-hansgrohe team in sixth place.

Evenepoel is getting closer and closer to overall victory

Belgian Remco Evenepoel finished in the first group and came one step closer to overall victory. The 22-year-old defended the overall leader’s red jersey and is 2:07 ahead of Spaniard Enric Mas and 5:14 ahead of his compatriot Juan Ayuso Pesquera.

The mountainous 20th stage of the day leads over 181 kilometers from Moralzarzal to Puerto de Navacerrada this Saturday. The Vuelta ends in Madrid on Sunday.
