The relocation of the Search & Rescue helicopters to Ostend will continue, Minister of Defense Dedonder confirms in the committee. This is planned for the summer of 2027. It is surprising that there will continue to be military activity on Koksijde after that.
“Due to the rapidly changing geopolitical situation and its impact on Belgian defense, the maintenance and expansion of training areas are absolutely necessary to respond to evolving needs,” explains Minister of Defense Ludivine Dedonder.
