Horribly injured Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane has been sidelined for a long time.
Tampa Bay Patrick Maroon The skate sliced open Kane’s wrist as he fell to the ground. Kane quickly skated off the ice, screaming in agony, leaving a huge pool of blood in his wake.
The player was immediately given first aid and was quickly transported from the ice rink to the hospital.
Puck supplier Mark Spector reports that Kane’s wrist injury is serious enough to sideline the Canadian for three to four months.
The setback is big for Edmonton. Kane has mostly belonged to his superstars Connor McDavid’s and Leon Draisaitl resting on the organization’s best forwards. This season, Kane had time to forge 13 (5+8) power points in 14 matches.
Kane falling out of the lineup for a long time provides Jesse to Puljujärvi a chance to get an improved position with the Oilers. There is a big plot on offer as Kane’s replacement, the Finn must raise his level. Only two power points have been created this season.
