eve parera has very ambitious plans for her party, Valents, on the occasion of the municipal elections that will be held on May 28, 2023. In Catalonia in general and in particular in the Barcelona City Council, of which she has been a councilor for three years, when she achieved the place in the consistory within the candidacy of Manuel Valles, Barcelona pel Canvi.
The councilor, who has always praised Valls for his career and for what she learned from him, explained this Wednesday that she no longer maintains any contact with the former French prime minister, who left the city council more than a year ago now, when he resigned from the councilor’s minutes in August 2021. “I have no contact with him or anyone around him & rdquor ;, has revealed.
Parera has told it in a meeting with the media held this Wednesday, in which he has stated that Valents sets himself the goal of presenting a total of one hundred applications in many other Catalan towns. “We have it more complicated than others, because we are new & rdquor ;, explains Parera, who rules out that Valents present himself in the local elections in Barcelona with the help of other parties.
The common house does not exist
A thesis contrary to the one that ran long ago, when Parera herself contemplated the possibility of a constitutionalist candidacy that would include the PP and Ciudadanos in whole or in part, and that if arithmetic allowed it, she could govern Barcelona through an alliance with the PSC of James Collboni.
The plan is to go it alone and achieve influence based on the results at the polls, and maintain a speech of resounding rejection of independence, although focusing on the management of the city. Parera has underlined that his group has proposed to get the plenary sessions out of the routine by encouraging concrete debates, alluding to the custom that he has adopted in recent years: making a statement of a particularly resounding nature, touching the incendiaryon unaccompanied foreign minors or on the occupation and amplify that thesis in social networks, presenting itself as an alternative to the government of Ada Colau and the PSC.
Unhorse Colau
After a political career in Unió Democràtica de Catalunya, Parera came to the Barcelona City Council at the hands of Manuel Valls, within the candidacy of Barcelona pel Canvi. She was, along with Valls and Celestino Corbacho, one of the three councilors who, with their vote, allowed Colau to be sworn in as mayor again in 2019. A maneuver that the former French prime minister justified because it prevented the city from having as mayor the winner of the elections, the ERC candidate, Ernest Maragall.
Valls, who had received financial support from a sector of people in Barcelona who wanted Colau to be removed from the mayor’s office, ended up allowing him to continue in exchange for preventing an independentista from running the city. And he boasted of having justified with that his unprecedented political adventure, which took him from the French political scene to that of Barcelona.

In August 2021, Valls formalized his resignation as a councilor in Barcelona and began his next adventure: he set out to achieve success in the 2022 French legislative elections hand in hand with the list of La República en Marcha, the party of the French president, Emmanuel Macron. .
He wanted to win a seat in the French National Assembly for the 5th constituency that represents residents of Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Monaco. But he failed in that effort by losing the primaries to gain access to the square.
