Eva Jinek’s lazy life is over? ‘She has to work full-time’

During her four years at RTL 4, Eva Jinek lay in a hammock more often than she sat in her talk show chair. And that has seriously damaged her status. “She has to work full-time.”

It is really a mystery how Eva Jinek got the management of RTL 4 to give her millions of euros, but at the same time be allowed to go on holiday for at least half the year. Was the big boss Sven Sauvé on a yacht with Nikkie Plessen again? Was Peter van der Vorst busy counting sheep in his backyard?

Talk show royalty

In any case: a great achievement. The only problem is that those generous employment conditions have blown up in Eva’s face, because all that part-time work has destroyed her status as a talk show queen. Who will form our country’s talk show royalty in 2023? They are three men and they are sitting at a talk show table on SBS 6.

The men of Today Inside make television five evenings a week almost all year round. No talk show is more watched than the show of Johan Derksen, Wilfred Genee and René van der Gijp. And according to TV expert Tina Nijkamp, this is largely due to their broadcast frequency.

No longer part-time

If Eva wants to matter again, she must start working full-time again, Tina tells her Telegraph column. She points out that Eva worked at RTL 4 for a maximum of half the year. “The only major disadvantage, of course, is that as a talk show host you will never really make a difference again, like Matthijs and Humberto did or Today Inside is doing now.”

She continues: “Simply because you are too often not there at important moments. And that is reflected in lower viewing figures. The big question is: will Eva also work part-time at the NPO? Or will ambition win and will she follow Matthijs, Humberto and Maak inside? Very curious.”
