Jack van Gelder thinks that Eva Jinek has been treated way too hard by Today Inside. She was pretty bashed by Johan Derksen at the end of the season. “Damn it, why should that be?”
Eva Jinek lay awake all night in May when Johan Derksen called her an ‘uncollegial slut’ on television. An evening later she was emotional in the talk show of Beau van Erven Dorens to deny that she danced on the grave of Today Inside at the party after her season finale. Many parties joined camp VI.
Jack supports Jinek
It really went too far, says Jack van Gelder. “Why is Jinek a common thread? Jinek once called out, but Johan calls out everything that God has forbidden and what he wants. Then Jinek called something once and then it’s… You understand what I mean,” he says in Wilfred Genee’s radio show, The Friday Move†
Jack himself has also been mocked in VI for years. “That was especially the time of Studio Voetbal, where you did what you sometimes say about other programs, of: ‘That sucks’, and: ‘That’s not good!’ We never took part in that, because I think: if I give you attention… That’s what it’s about, so I never did that.”
‘Damn it!’
It’s the best tactic: just shut up, says Jack. “At a certain point it was ready and then other colleagues were approached and then I thought: damn it, why well, you don’t need that at all.”
Jack has only recently lifted his boycott of all things VI. That is why he is also in this radio show of Wilfred. “At a certain point you get a bit older and then you think: that should be possible. I did curse you in the past. I thought you were an incredible pocket washer.”

In the end, VI is just a good program, says Jack. “Johan with his fixed opinions who gives a lot of gas, Gijp who sometimes has a nice comment but often has total nonsense and then has a joke that he repeats three times, but somehow it works very well together.”
