Eva Jinek’s talk show responds to photographer Micky Hoogendijk, who finds the working method of the presenter and her editors ‘absurd’. “We did discuss it in the preliminary meeting.”
Micky Hoogendijk was in the talk show of Eva Jinek at the beginning of last year to talk about her remigration to the Netherlands. She was suddenly confronted with images of a traumatic event in her life: in 1994 a hand grenade exploded under her then husband’s car, causing him to lose his legs and she had a miscarriage.
‘It is not right!’
No one at Jinek had informed her about those images, Micky says. She said it was very unexpected. “Yes, that was absurd. I was not prepared for it at all. (…) As if it were some kind of funny movie to watch, they suddenly showed the images from a few minutes after the attack. No, they hadn’t said anything about it.”
Eva now reacts o Micky’s statements. Her talk show claims through a spokesperson that Micky’s statements are incorrect. “The subject was discussed in the preliminary meeting,” a spokesperson told the AP. “But we understand very well that with images in the live show it can feel very overwhelming.”
‘Never our intention’
According to the makers of Jinek, it is not true that Micky was not informed about this, but they do find it annoying that she felt this way. “That is never our intention or intention and this is also a lesson for us to deal with this even more accurately in the future.”
The press officer states that there is no dispute between the two parties. “We are very sorry that Micky has been on our show with such a feeling and are in good contact with her.”
