Eva Jinek categorically refuses to participate in De Slimste Mens, one of the most popular programs in the country. The presenter fears the risk of harm that candidates run.
We are in the final week of De Slimste Mens and that prompted Eva Jinek to devote an extensive item to it in her talk show. Angela de Jong, among others, was at the table, who has complained about the level of knowledge of the candidates this season. The AD opinion diva herself once won the program.
Floor doesn’t want to
That victory has brought Angela a lot. “Yes, I think so, because I went from three to five columns. I stopped being a chef and I’ve been leading a very free life as a columnist ever since,” she says.
Fellow guest Floor Bremer, journalist for RTL Nieuws, does not think about ever participating. “No. Point one, I don’t like games, that seems like a condition to me, and I actually never participate in games. And after hearing all this (a diatribe about stupid candidates, ed.), I certainly don’t want to!”
Neither does Eve
Eva then reveals that she absolutely does not want to participate in De Slimste Mens. “Me neither. I don’t fret about it. I don’t want to be exposed.”
Angela confronts Eva about this. “I think that’s such a woman’s argument.”
Eva doesn’t like that. “No, you know: I am not a woman who comes up with women’s arguments. You know that about me. In this case it is purely normal that I think: I also want people to look at me in the evening, that they think: hey, that’s Jinek, she has read up, she knows what she is talking about.”
“That idiot!”
Eva doesn’t want viewers to laugh at her. “Not that they think: that’s the idiot who then got all wet with that or that. I mean do you understand? People take that with them.”
It seems exactly the reason why De Slimste Mens is mainly filled with lesser-known names. The big A stars all fear for their image; if they are let down by their ready knowledge during the recordings, they will be quite embarrassed.
