Eva Jinek systematically refuses to join Dit Was Het Nieuws because she fears being cancelled. “What a cowardly branch you are. Why don’t you ever participate?”, says Peter Pannekoek.
Peter Pannekoek was sitting at the talk show table by Eva Jinek to promote the new season of Dit Was Het Nieuws. In this program, well-known Dutch people provide satirical commentary on current affairs. “Are there any guests you would like to have?” the hostess asks him at one point.
Coward branch
Yes, Peter replies. “I do know someone, but they have often been asked: Eva Jinek, but that is a cowardly branch!”
Eva laughs heartily at this. “Ha ha,” she says. Then she folds her hands under her chin: “A sensible woman!”
Peter: “That’s real… Why don’t you ever participate?”
Co-host Harm Edens, who is also at the table: “And you’re always on vacation! So just come.”
Eva: “Ohhh, guys! I have plenty of time to come!”
Eve is not coming
Eva stands by her refusal. “No, guys, I always let myself go so fast and I have to act normal again here.”
Peter: “Your humor is so harsh. When the camera is off, it is much louder than you normally show. I think people love that.”
Eva: “I don’t want to be cancelled.”
Birth
Harm tries again: “Sometime in September?”
Then Eva reveals when she is due: “When I give birth?”
Harm: “Well, just after that.”
Eva: “When I’m lying in the delivery hotel! I will think about it.”
“Come back to it!”
Peter has little confidence when he hears Eva like this. “Do you hear the cancellation?”
Eva: “I will get back to you, you will hear from me!”
Peter: “You will hear from my management.”
