It is now more than a month ago that Eva Jinek said that RTL wants to continue with her, but that she does not want to make that decision until later. A clumsy statement or is she really in doubt about her contract?
It seems that Eva Jinek is really not so sure about her future at RTL 4. It is almost certain that she will have to hand in her top salary of 1.2 million euros a year – possibly up to 600 thousand euros – but it is also a fact that next year the NPO will reach a salary ceiling of about 250 thousand euros. Does Eva want to jump that deep?
‘Eva really doubts’
There are three advantages for Eva to switch to the NPO: she can then make a talk show at seven o’clock in the evening, which can be better combined with her family life, it is prestigious to follow in the footsteps of De Wereld Draait Door and she may demand even more vacation than she already has due to her salary drop.
Jordi Versteegden, media journalist for De Telegraaf, states in the podcast Strictly Private that her doubt is really serious. “I really hear in the corridors, just yesterday, that she really hasn’t decided yet whether she wants to stay with RTL, yes or no. That will be exciting.”
Top salary saved?
For the image it will undoubtedly help Eva that she can now close her season without the stiff competition of Today Inside, which has gone on holiday. She suddenly scored many times better yesterday without VI against her. “Jinek does benefit a bit from the absence of the men,” says Jordi.
His colleague Evert Santegoeds: “Well, she is on the rise and maybe it’s about time that she can save her contract for RTL a bit, because she has a lot of problems with VI, it turns out now, because if they are not there for an evening, she immediately scores 200 to 300 thousand more viewers.”

Eva said in her talk show that she is due in September. She has announced that she only wants to think about her future calmly after that, so it is expected that she will announce what she will do in October or November.
The strange thing is that her contract expires in January, so it could be that she left RTL – just like she did before at the NPO – at the last minute with the baked pears.
