Eva Jinek is annoyed that the agricultural negotiations have collapsed. Her patience with the farmers is running out. “If it doesn’t work anymore, maybe you should find another job!”
After more than half a year of negotiations about the perspective of the farmers, the farmers’ organization LTO has withdrawn from the negotiations on the agricultural agreement. Chairman Sjaak van der Tak sat at the table with politician Caroline van der Plas last night Jinek. And there they found a pretty colored presenter…
Eva very annoyed
Eva Jinek appears to have lost her patience with the farmers and she clearly showed that too. She blames Sjaak for leaving the meeting. Heavily annoyed: “Isn’t this just how the world changes? Things change. If a car mechanic’s job suddenly ceases to exist because from 2030…”
When Caroline wants to say something, Eva snaps at her: “Can I finish it?”
It’s a meta-discussion, she says. “It is not a sustainable solution. The real situation is that society is changing, that jobs are disappearing and that branches of industry are disappearing and that you cannot be compensated for this to the maximum.”
‘You do not understand’
Caroline doesn’t understand Eva’s attitude. “Then you don’t understand, Eva, what the life and work of a farmer is. It’s not that he thought at the age of eighteen: what shall I do sometime? These people have often been on their farm for generations. A lot of capital investment has been made in it for generations.”
Eva understands the emotions, but says that many people are now suffering from the farmers. “I notice that there has been an awful lot of talk for months and that we all suffer society-wide from the standstill that arises because we cannot get out of this impasse. Everyone is involved in that.”
‘Find another job!’
After all this time, Eva is done with it. She calls on farmers to go and apply elsewhere. “You can say: ‘He has a right to this and that’, but we are no longer getting closer to each other. If it doesn’t work anymore, maybe you should find another job! That’s what I’m trying to say.”
Both Sjaak and Caroline are stunned. “It’s not just a job, is it? It’s not a job,” she said.
Ferocious reactions
Eva provokes ferocious reactions on social media. “Shouldn’t a presenter be somewhat neutral and let table guests finish talking? Anyway; immediately finished with Eva Jinek!”, says Peet.
Daniel speaks of a ‘biased, subjective clown’ and Evert: “The talk show level in the Netherlands is not good, but when Eva Jinek started giving monologues yesterday and bit against Caroline van der Plas: ‘May I have a moment?’, then a new historical rock bottom reached. Good to see Eva back again. Beau is fine.”
And Niels: “What a disgusting, unprofessional and bastard performance by Eva Jinek and Floor Bremer. When a bunch of vicious dogs bark and attack their table guests. Absolutely no empathy for the farmers and no willingness to listen. Disgusting left-wing Randstad arrogance.”
