Friend and foe now agree that Eva Jinek is no longer worth 1.2 million euros a year due to her collapsed viewing figures, but how does she actually view this?
It is of course not nice for Eva Jinek that everyone in the media is falling over each other to give an opinion about her top salary, especially if reference is made to the fact that she works part-time. Fortunately, the presenter can handle it well; she responds to it laconically at some women’s event.
Declared dead
Eva was interviewed by Roos Moggré during a meeting in Amsterdam last week and there was a spy from the weekly newspaper there Weekend bee. The sensitive questions, for example about her collapsed viewing figures, far too long broadcasts and million-dollar contract, were not forthcoming. She does talk in general about her turbulent TV career.
At one point, Eva also seems to refer to the current rumor about her TV future. “One of the things I say at the beginning of my book Dream Big is about a very difficult moment in my career. That my career was declared dead has happened before, now I’m used to it,” she laughs.
“But the first time that happened, I thought it was pretty intense.”
Multiple fears
How did that first time go? We have to read that again in Eva’s book. “I write about how that went. And how important it is for other people to talk about their difficulties and failures.”
Incidentally, a possible RTL exit appears to be a fear of Eva. “I think I have several fears. One of my fears is that because my parents are refugees, you can lose everything overnight.”
“Am I getting fired?”
What does anxiety look like in everyday life? “I will always think: I have to be careful, I have to have enough money in my account. Oh, my boss wants to see me, am I getting fired?”
Still, Eva tries to get those fear images out of her head. “When I tell people this, they often say: ‘What are you talking about, what are you worried about?!’”
