Eva Jinek is expecting her second child. The 44-year-old presenter surprised her followers on Instagram on Friday with this happy news.
“So nice that Pax will soon have someone to grow up with,” writes Eva with a childhood photo of her and her brother, supplemented with the hashtag Jinekbaby2.
In 2016, Eva Jinek got into a relationship with producer Dexter van der Voorn, whom she met while filming her documentaries in the United States. Eva was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her Czech parents decided to move to the Netherlands when she turned 11, because they wanted her and her brother Jan to grow up in Europe.
Despite the fact that Eva had not suffered from rattling ovaries for a long time, she revealed in March 2018 that she had been doing ‘duo presentation’ for months. Son Pax Valentijn was born on September 6. The presenter recently looked back on childbirth and the time after in her show. Eva gave birth at 39 weeks via an unplanned caesarean section, a major abdominal operation after which she could hardly walk or lift her baby for weeks. “I felt bad at the time, very bad. I can also think rationally, but that decreases during such a period. I knew I still had four months until my work would start again. I thought: I will never be the same again, I can never perform that way or physically deliver that performance. I felt very unhappy about that.”
Pax, of whom no pictures can be found on social media, is raised multilingually: grandpa and grandma talk to him in Czech, Eva communicates in English and when the family is together, Dutch is spoken. Now that her talk show will be taken over by Beau van Erven Dorens from Monday, the presenter is looking forward to spending more time with her family. She said earlier about the fact that her toddler is often with his father: ,,It’s great to see Dexter as a father. So devoted, sweet, gentle. When I first went back to work after Pax was born, our baby was very dependent on him. Logical, because they were together a lot, but sometimes I really didn’t like that. Then I was the one who came to cut the meat on Sunday.”
