Eva Jinek drops through the 500,000 viewer limit: ‘All alarm bells ringing’

The ratings of Eva Jinek have been under pressure for some time, but are now starting to lead to serious concerns. She dipped below the limit of 500 thousand viewers yesterday. “All alarm bells are going off.”

Eva Jinek and her declining ratings have been a topic of conversation for quite some time now. It is often associated with her expiring contract; critics think she will never be able to renew for 1.2 million euros a year. And the fact that she is now falling through the lower limit in her last weeks of the year – Eva is pregnant – does not help either.

Alarm bells

Rating connoisseur Tina Nijkamp is shocked by Eva’s scores from yesterday. Only 470 thousand viewers (12.5 percent market share) watched her late-night talk show on RTL 4. This means that the presenter almost falls out of the top 25 viewing figure; yesterday she had to settle for 22nd place.

This is really worrying, says Tina. “The alarm bells are really going off now, because this is really quite a shock for Eva Jinek this morning. Now BELOW 500K viewers and almost out of the top 25. That’s awfully close to the record low of 382K viewers on September 7, 2020.”

Political guests

RTL cannot rely on good figures in the commercial target group either, because Eva only scores 10 percent, Tina knows. “It is clear that she does not benefit from all the political guests. That is not exclusive, because the politicians are everywhere this week. Yesterday Jinek Attje and Jesse Klaver were guests.”

“It is painful that Jinek loses to Hart van Nederland (630 thousand) and Shownieuws (410 thousand) in the target group for the second day in a row. Those programs achieved 13 and 14 percent market share. Hopefully better times for Eva soon and perhaps a very good idea to spend a little less time on the elections.”

Derk of TV?

There is also bad news for Derk Bolt. With 992 thousand viewers (20 percent) he was the winner in prime time for Spoorloos, but it is not a fat pot. “For the first time in I think twenty years under a million with Spoorloos. I think there is a good chance that this will be the last season for the time being.”

“Disappointing ratings and a scandal is not a good combination. Derk is only just number one at half past nine. Today Inside had only 62 thousand less.”
