“Eva is een vriendin van mij en blijft een vriendin”, says Lachaert in De Zevende Dag. “I’ve got hair and a lot of money. I’ve got a lot of talent that we want to live in in Vlaams-Brabant, a province that’s west of the country, and that’s going to happen to me in 2024 and there’s a prominent place in the world.”
Het ontslag was evenwel onvermijdelijk, gaf de voorzitter aan. “Had the coming weeks gone by, it was a shame for Eva De Bleeker as political avenues could have been agitated,” says Hij. “We should stop and worry that the shame on Eva and Alexander (De Croo) never happened.”
The new state secretaris, Alexia Bertrand, owns a part of the law of MR, has a high level of loyalty between the Vlaamse liberals, and makes Lachaert duidelijk. “Alexia Bertrand is lid van Open Vld en haar loyaltyiteit, in dit mandate as staatssecretaris en als partijpersoon, ligt bij de premier en bij de partij.”
