Euvgenia Parakhina has received two Ukrainian refugees and appeared with them in front of the camera of RTL Boulevard yesterday. “No one now believes she is on Putin’s side.”
Euvgenia Parakhina’s TV appearance in January caused astonishment. While Vladimir Putin was busy building up troops on the border of Ukraine, she cheerfully defended him on the talk show VI Today. “You can call him (Putin, ed.) dictator, but is Rutte also a dictator? Mark Rutte?”, she said, among other things.
Euvgenia’s shelter
Now that Vladimir Putin has turned out to be a war criminal, Euvgenia has completely repented. She appeared yesterday with two Ukrainian refugees in front of the camera of RTL Boulevard. “We have set up a special room for them,” said the So You Think You Can Dance judge.
The two gentlemen Euvgenia receives are two of her friends. They were on vacation in Mexico, but could not travel back to Ukraine because of the war. “We’ve had all the neighbors, everyone, yelling, ‘We need clothes’ because they only had shorts and t-shirts.”
“It’s so bizarre!”
Euvgenia seems to have come full circle as she sees with her own eyes what Putin is doing in Ukraine. “Putin has made all Russians all over Russia believe different things.”
The Russian media are absolutely not to be trusted, according to Euvgenia. “For example, we watch the Ukrainian news together and what they show. And then we open the Russian news and everything is either condoned or turned around. It’s bizarre!”
Beautiful and brave
TV connoisseur Rob Goossens believes that Euvgenia is making up for her failed performance at VI Today. “A lot of viewers thought it looked like Putin propaganda back then. Of course she was not right at all in the end, but we all hoped that she was right and that Putin had not invaded.”
“I think it’s very beautiful and brave of her that she now seizes the opportunity to tell us how she looks at it now. From what we’ve just seen of her, I don’t think there are many people out there who think she’s on Putin’s side.”
