Eurozone retail sales fell in November. Compared to the previous month, they fell by 0.3 percent, as the European statistics office Eurostat announced on Monday in Luxembourg. Economists had expected this.
In October, sales rose by a revised 0.4 percent. Initially, only an increase of 0.1 percent was determined.
Compared to the same month last year, sales in November fell by 1.1 percent. A decline of 1.5 percent was expected here.
In a month-on-month comparison, sales in online and mail order sales fell particularly significantly. Sales of food and beverages as well as non-food goods also fell. However, gasoline sales at gas stations have increased. (dpa)
