The Eurovision Song Contest will take place next week in Turin, Italy. This is the third time Italy has organized an iconic singing competition.

The race arrangements are now in the midst of a stir. The EBU, the European Broadcasting Union, announced this week that the stage had been broken.

The theme for this year’s stage is “The Sun Inside”. In the middle of the stage is a sun-like structure that was supposed to rotate when needed. However, the ambitious plan will not materialize now, and the structure will remain motionless.

– In technical tests, the production team has faced challenges in how long it takes to adjust the “sun” to different positions between performances, the EBU commented to the Danish broadcaster DR.

– Together with RAI (Italian Broadcasting Corporation), we have decided that the “sun” will remain in the same position during all performances in order to ensure fair competition for all.

Delegations from different countries are currently training for next week’s live TV broadcast. The broken stage has caused problems for performances in some countries.

Romania will be represented this year WRS with a song Llámame. In the performance, the words of the song appear on the wall of the stage, which are now hidden behind the immovable stage element.

How about Finland?

Finland will be represented in the competition this year by The Rasmus with the song Jezebel. Iltalehti reached a representative of the band to comment on whether they have had to re-edit the performance in the last few meters.

– No significant changes had to be made, Iltalehti is told.

So you go largely with the original plan?

– Yes, the band representative says.

The first photographs of The Rasmus’ performance have already been published. Large balloons are seen on the stage. The main colors of the presentation are yellow and black.

Soloist Lauri Ylönen is in a show wearing a yellow-black jacket and loose leather pants. Towards the end of the performance, Ylönen is seen performing without a shirt.

Earlier in an interview with Iltalehti, the band members described their performance as colliding and theatrical.
