European top reaches deal on aid for Ukraine, Orbán also agrees: “Money for Hungary will not go to Kiev”

All 27 European government leaders have unexpectedly quickly agreed to a new support package of 50 billion euros for Ukraine. Hungary, which was resistant for a long time, has also agreed, reports Chairman Charles Michel of the Council of Heads of Government. “We have a deal,” he writes on X. The EU summit, which would focus on money for Ukraine, had not officially started yet when Michel reported the deal. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán claims that, despite this, no money intended for Hungary will flow to Ukraine.
