The price cap for natural gas in the European Union comes into force today. That ceiling should help to counteract peaks in the gas price. Due to the war in Ukraine and the sharply reduced supplies of Russian gas to Europe, the price rose sharply last year, causing many households and companies to struggle to pay their energy bills.
