European Parliament wants to reduce air pollution with stricter standards: major challenge for our country | News

Stricter air quality standards will be introduced for, among other things, particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), NO2 (nitrogen dioxide), SO2 (sulfur dioxide) and O3 (ozone). If it is up to parliamentarians, the standards must be achieved by 2035, with interim targets for 2030. The end goal is to have no air pollution by 2050, so that human health, ecosystems and biodiversity are no longer damaged.
