European Parliament does not vote down nature restoration law | Abroad

The vote on the nature restoration law can continue in the European Parliament. The demand to reject the entire bill was voted down by the plenary.

Because the environmental committee previously rejected the nature restoration law, the entire hemisphere was asked to do the same. But the relevant amendment was voted down: 312 MPs voted in favour, 324 against and 12 abstained.

Now the members of parliament have started the article-by-article treatment of the bill, based on the amendments that have been tabled. This means that the European Parliament will thus shape a position on the nature restoration law, which could be very close to that of the member states, which already determined their position at the end of June.

It cannot be ruled out that when the final text is presented at the end of the vote, it will still be voted down. It is a scenario that Frédérique Ries (MR) did not rule out in advance.
