MT Melsungen confidently secured its ticket for the main round of the European League on Tuesday. The North Hessians are fully concentrated in Budapest right from the start.
Fourth game, fourth victory: The handball players from MT Melsungen made it into the main round of the European League early on. At Ferencvaros Budapest, the North Hesse team won confidently with 28:25 (14:10) on Tuesday evening. They are already out of the group phase with two match days to go from the first two places in the table to suppress.
In Budapest, MT impressed with a focused team performance right from the start. Front and back, the guests left nothing to be desired against their clearly inferior opponents. Melsunger’s most successful thrower was Sadou Ntanzi with five goals.
Points are taken into the main round
With regard to the main round, the following rule applies, as with the World and European Championships: The teams that advance take the points they scored against their group opponents, who also qualified. In the best case scenario, the MT starts the next phase of the European League with four points. The guest appearance at Benfica Lisbon on December 2nd could be decisive for this. In the Bundesliga, MT continues on Friday in their own hall against SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
