The German hockey women have already made it to the semi-finals of the European Indoor Championships in Berlin before their last group game. The defending champions achieved their third win on Friday evening (09.02.24) with a 5-0 (4-0) against the Czech Republic in the third game and are therefore at least second in Group A.
The team of indoor national coach Dominic Giskes ensured clear conditions in the first two quarters. Philin Bolle (10th, 14th, 26th) was on the top scorer list three times. Ines Wanner (7th, 17th) scored twice. At the end of the preliminary round, the DHB selection will fight for group victory against the third-placed Belgians on Saturday (12.45 p.m.).
Final on Sunday
One point would be enough to secure first place ahead of Spain. The semi-finals will be played on Saturday evening and the final will take place on Sunday (2 p.m.).
Record champion Germany is aiming for the 17th success in the association’s history in Berlin. This would bring the women back into line with the DHB men. They triumphed in the final against Poland (5:2) in Leuven, Belgium, last weekend.
