The remaining participants in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League have reported their squads to the European football association UEFA. The Bundesliga’s top signings from the January transfer window all made it onto the updated lists with two exceptions at Eintracht Frankfurt – whether Ian Maatsen (21) and Jadon Sancho (23) at Borussia Dortmund, Sacha Boey (23), Bryan Zaragoza ( 22) as well as Eric Dier (30) at Bayern Munich and Attila Szalai (26) at SC Freiburg.

An exception are Donny van de Beek (26), who will not play in the Conference League after his loan from Man United to SGE, and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya (18). According to Sky, van de Beek should first get into the rhythm of his teammates; he also sat on the bench for 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat in the Bundesliga against Cologne. Hugo Ekitiké (21) and Sasa Kalajdzic (26), who also joined Dino Toppmöller’s team, are on Eintracht’s list, and left-back Philipp Max (30), in contrast to the group phase, is also part of the Frankfurt squad this time. More than three late registrations were not possible. The Hessians will meet the Belgian representative Union Saint-Gilloise in the playoffs (February 15th & 22nd).

Champions League squad: How are things going with the “A-list” and “B-list”?
As in the group phase, there is a division into “A-list” and “B-list”. The “A list” includes 25 players, of which at least two must be goalkeepers and eight must be “locally trained players”. The “local players” are those who were trained for three full seasons with the club or its national association between the ages of 15 and 21. However, at least four of the listed “local players” must have been trained in their own youth ranks. If a club does not meet these requirements, the squad list will be reduced by the corresponding number. The “A-list” was allowed to be adjusted before the round of 16 or the playoffs to include a maximum of three new players.
If three professionals were newly registered, three others had to be deleted – if, like FC Bayern, the list didn’t have three free places anyway. This time, Eljif Elmas (24), goalkeeper Leopold Zingerle (29) and the recovered defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu (18) are with RB Leipzig instead of the departed Fábio Carvalho (21), Timo Werner (27) and Emil Forsberg (32). game. At BVB, Sancho and Maatsen replaced Thomas Meunier (32), whose transfer to Trabzonspor is about to be completed, as well as Giovanni Reyna (21) and midfield talent Noah Mbamba (19) had to make way for new signing Borja Iglesias (31) at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. In addition to Szalai, Florent Muslija (25) has also registered for SC Freiburg; reserve players Serge Müller (23) and Ji-han Lee (21) are no longer in the squad.
Since the 2018/19 season, late registration has been possible without restrictions. Previously, only players who had not yet been used in the European Cup, only in the qualifying rounds or in the group phase of the other competition were allowed to be re-registered. The Conference League didn’t exist back then. The latter option was only limited to a new entry. Coaches are allowed to place on the “B list” players who were born on or after January 1, 2002 and who played for that club for two consecutive years between their 15th birthday and registration with UEFA. 16-year-olds must have spent the last two seasons with the club. Among other things Aleksandar Pavlovic (19), who recently got a lot of playing time for Munich, is on this list, as is BVB striker talent Paris Brunner (17).
