The European Commission has asked the member states to contribute a total of 66 billion euros more to the EU budget. If that proposal is approved, it could cost Belgium almost 600 million euros extra per year, the cabinet of State Secretary for the Budget Alexia Bertrand (Open Vld) told ‘De Tijd’.
