Angelina Köhler has won the first major title of her career. The swimmer from Berlin-Neukölln secured gold in the 200 meter butterfly European Championships on the short course on Thursday (December 7th, 2023).
In the 25-meter pool in Otopeni, Romania, Köhler swam a personal best time of 2:03.30 minutes, edging second-placed Helena Rosendahl Bach from Denmark by half a second.
It was the second medal for the German team. On Wednesday, Köhler’s club colleague Ole Braunschweig won silver in the 50 meter backstroke.
