Heptathlon at the European Championships: At the start of the second day, Sophie Weißenberg jumped further than the favorite Nafissatou Thiam. Things didn’t go so well for Carolin Schäfer.

It was the first discipline on the second day of competition in the heptathlon – and Sophie Weißenburg convinced. In her best attempt she reached 6.35 meters – in the overall ranking she is sixth after five disciplines with 4665 points.

Dien’s favorite Belgian, Nafissatou Thiam, surprisingly only jumped 6.08 meters, but remains clearly in the lead overall with 4937 points.

Schäfer jumps 5.82 meters

Carolin Schäfer may not have been entirely satisfied with her result in the long jump. She managed 5.82 meters in her best attempt and is now tenth with 4502 points.
