Walking (M): German athletes have tough competition
In addition to Perseus Karlström, the three German walkers will probably have to keep an eye on the strong Spaniards in the first place. Álvaro Martín and Alberto Amezcua have already made people sit up and take notice this year with impressive season bests of under 1:20 hours. Diego García Carrera was only a blink of an eye missing on this route.

Walk (M): First starting shot of the day
The walkers have been on the move for a few minutes. The Swede Perseus Karlstrom, who won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Eugene a few weeks ago, is the favorite over the 20-kilometer distance. The German trio Nils Brembach, Karl Junghannß and Leo Köpp also don’t want to hide and are aiming for one of the three coveted podium places.

What’s next for athletics?
Away from the athletics competitions, things are really happening on the final weekend of the European Championships! Numerous canoe semi-finals are already on the program at the Olympic regatta facility in the morning, before the medals are distributed there in the afternoon. Beach volleyball will once again be played on the Königsplatz, with the German duo Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler aiming to reach the semi-finals. The Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle is the venue for the quarter and semi-finals in table tennis, and medals are also awarded in gymnastics and mountain biking.
The day in athletics
Plenty of precious metal will again be awarded in athletics on the penultimate day of the European Championships. In the morning the walkers look for the 20-kilometer champions, in the evening it is the turn of the 4×400-meter relays. There are also medals in the men’s pole vault and the women’s javelin throw, 800 meters and 300 meters steeplechase.
