Wrestler Sandra Paruszewski repeated her success from the previous year and won bronze at the European Championships in Zagreb.
The 29-year-old from AV Sulgen in Baden-Württemberg won in one of the small finals in the weight class up to 59 kilograms against Alijona Kolesnik from Azerbaijan. Shortly before, Annika Wendle from southern Baden had lost her bronze medal in the category up to 55 kilograms against Tatiana Debien from France.
The German Wrestling Federation (DRB) currently has two medals in the title fights in the Croatian capital. Before Paruszewski, freestyle specialist Horst Lehr had finished third in the class up to 57 kilograms. The EM runs until Sunday. From Friday, the Greco-Roman wrestlers will also hit the mat.
