Lieke Klaver has won her first individual medal at a major tournament. The Enkhuizense won the silver medal in the 400 meters during the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul. She conceded 0.72 seconds to the winner Femke Bol.
Two weeks ago, Bol and Klaver were also the numbers one and two during the NK indoor in Apeldoorn. Then Bol raced to a fabulous new world record. This time Bol clocked a time of 49.85 seconds and Klaver finished second in 50.57 seconds. Poland’s Anna Kielbanska took the bronze in 51.25 seconds.
Last summer, Klaver took gold with the Dutch relay team in the 4×400 meters during the European championships in Munich.
